Machu Picchu By Car & Train
2-day Machu Picchu tour using a combination of van and train travel to save time. Day 1: travel by vehicle from Cusco to a midway point (often Ollantaytambo or Hidroeléctrica), then transfer to a train for the remainder of the journey to Aguas Calientes. Enjoy the scenic train ride without paying for the full route. Overnight in Aguas Calientes hotel. Day 2: take the first bus up and have a guided tour of Machu Picchu. In the afternoon, return by train (from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo) and then by van to Cusco. This hybrid option is less strenuous than the full car route and cheaper than the full train route, offering a balanced way to visit Machu Picchu.
