Lake Titicaca (uros & Taquile)
Full-day boat tour on Lake Titicaca from Puno visiting the Uros floating islands and Taquile Island. In the morning, sail out to the Uros Islands – unique man-made islets of reeds where Uros families live. Step onto these floating islands and learn how they construct them and their traditional way of life (fishing, reed handicrafts). You may ride on a reed boat (optional, small fee). Then continue by boat (~2 hours) to Taquile Island, known for its skilled weavers (Taquile’s textile art is UNESCO-recognized) and cooperative lifestyle. After a short uphill walk, have lunch on Taquile (usually local trout) with a panoramic lake view. Explore Taquile’s plaza and perhaps buy handicrafts, then return to Puno by late afternoon. This tour offers a fascinating glimpse into indigenous cultures and the serene beauty of Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake.
