Huayna Picchu Mountain

A short but steep hike to the top of Huayna Picchu, the iconic peak overlooking Machu Picchu. Requires a special permit (Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu ticket), with only 400 spots per day split into two morning groups. The trail is steep and narrow, with sections of rock stairs and cables for support. Reaching the summit (~2,720 m) rewards you with an amazing aerial perspective of Machu Picchu and the surrounding Andes. The climb takes ~1 hour up and 45 minutes down. It's usually done after a guided Machu Picchu tour. Not recommended for those with fear of heights or mobility issues, but a thrill for adventurous visitors seeking the ultimate view.
