Condor Canyon

Full-day tour from Cusco to Chonta Canyon for condor viewing. Depart around 8 AM for a drive (3-4 hours) through Limatambo to the community of Chonta. Hike about 1.5 hours to the Condor lookout point overlooking the deep Apurímac Canyon. In late afternoon, observe wild Andean condors – often several – as they emerge and glide across the canyon at close range, a breathtaking sight for bird lovers. Enjoy a box lunch and stunning mountain scenery. Hike back and return to Cusco by about 7 PM. This is a more off-the-beaten-path condor viewing experience compared to Colca, set amid tranquil natural surroundings.
