Ausangate Trek To Rainbow Mountain

5-day trek around the Ausangate massif, ending at Rainbow Mountain. This challenging route traverses multiple high passes (up to ~5,200 m) and remote Andean valleys. You’ll camp by turquoise lakes, see glaciers up close, and pass traditional alpaca herding communities. Highlights include soaking in natural hot springs (e.g., Upis), crossing the Palomani Pass (the highest point), and incredible night skies. On the final day, ascend Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain) at sunrise for a spectacular finish before descending and returning to Cusco. This trek is considered one of the most beautiful in Peru for its combination of mountain scenery and the unique experience of Rainbow Mountain without the crowds.
