Humantay Lake

Full-day trek to the turquoise Humantay Lake high in the Andes. Departing pre-dawn from Cusco, you drive ~3 hours to Soraypampa (the trailhead at ~3,900 m). From there, hike ~1.5 hours uphill to Humantay Lake at 4,200 m, a stunning glacier-fed lake with brilliant turquoise waters beneath Mt. Salkantay. Enjoy time at the lake for photos, rest, and an optional small offering to Pachamama. After enjoying the scenery (and possibly a traditional offering), hike back down to Soraypampa for lunch before returning to Cusco in the evening.
